【第二屆歐鴻鍊講座:前副總統蕭萬長博士分享涉外生涯與經驗】

對外關係協會(以下簡稱本會)與政治大學外交學系、政治大學政治學系於本(2024)年5月30日聯合舉辦第二屆「歐鴻鍊講座」,並由政大外交系系友會協辦。繼去年邀請第12、13任中華民國總統馬英九博士作為首屆主講人後,此次邀請到中華民國第12任副總統、外交學系第三屆畢業生、本會名譽會長蕭萬長博士,以「我的涉外生涯與經驗」為題,與大家分享他過去五十年來的經驗談。
本場講座也邀請前外交部次長、國安會副秘書長鄭文華大使與前國安會秘書長胡為真大使作為與談人,分享他們與蕭副總統的合作經歷。
本會創會會長、前外交部長歐鴻鍊大使投身中華民國外交40餘載,對本會發展及我國外交貢獻卓著。為感念其於外交生涯的犧牲與奉獻,本會和政大外交系於2022年簽訂合作備忘錄,設置「歐鴻鍊講座」,以將歐大使的外交經驗及專業精神傳承於世。
本次講座由本會會長、前外交部部長林永樂大使開場。林會長首先感謝歐會長夫人與蕭前副總統對講座和本會的鼎力支持,並簡短介紹歐會長與蕭前副總統自大學以來的友好關係。政大外交系系主任吳崇涵教授於開場致詞時,特別感謝蕭前副總統回到母校與師生暢談其寶貴的經驗與見解,相信一定會為師生帶來許多啟發。
85歲的蕭前副總統,於整場講座均精神飽滿,對於往事娓娓道來。他首先分享他與歐鴻鍊會長過去深厚情誼,並以「誠信、務實、忍耐」概括其五十年來參與我國涉外事務的經驗。他談到過去參與對美貿易談判、積極爭取台灣參與關稅暨貿易總協定(GATT)、加入世界貿易組織(WTO)與亞太經濟合作會議(APEC)、以及促成讓馬來西亞僑生來台留學的經過。他強調,外交官應以務實的態度去爭取國家最大利益,並將國家所受侵害減到最小,而非以單一政府或政黨的利益為優先考量。
在與談時段,鄭文華大使肯定蕭前副總統在談判上的誠信與務實原則,贏得了國際上的尊敬與信任。胡為真大使則以實例補充認為,蕭前副總統在推動我國經貿事務方面具有前瞻性與實踐力,其貢獻歷歷在目。
在提問環節中,有大學生問到兩岸關係的核心為何。蕭前副總統認為維繫兩岸關係的根本是教育,通過對於中華文化與歷史背景的認同與交流。另外,台灣也應與中國大陸保持經貿合作,但目前不宜急於討論統一。本協會常務理事令狐榮達大使問道,外交部是否應與國貿署結合。蕭前副總統表示,根據他自身經驗,非常樂見其成,畢竟經濟貿易事務對外交來說也是很重要的一環。
在問答結束後,由政治大學國際事務學院連弘宜院長代表致贈禮品予蕭前副總統及本會林會長,為第二屆「歐鴻鍊講座」劃下完美句點。本場講座不僅由蕭前副總統親自回顧其過去為我國在涉外政治及經貿事務方面的重點與反思,也讓在場師生深刻體會到從事政府涉外事務工作的艱辛與榮耀,咸認獲益良多。

The Association for Foreign Relations (hereafter referred to as the Association) and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Chengchi University and the Department of Political Science of Political Science of Chengchi University jointly held the second "Euu Lecture" on May 30, 2024, and was co-organized by the Friends Association of the Department of Following last year's invitation to the 12th and 13th President of the Republic of China Dr. Ma Ying-jeou as the first speaker, this time I invited Republic of China the 12th deputy President the 3rd graduate of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary President of the Association, Dr. Wu Wanchang, to share his experience over the past 50 years with you under the theme of "My career and experience in foreign affairs".
In this lecture, Ambassador Wu Wenhua, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, and Ambassador Hu Weizhen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, are invited to share their experience of cooperation with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council,
The founding president and former Foreign Minister of the Association, Ambassador Au Bin, has joined Republic of China for more than 40 years of diplomacy, making outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and to our foreign affairs. In memory of his sacrifice and dedication to his diplomatic career, the Association and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the University of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 and set up a "Euuric Lecture" to carry on the diplomatic experience and professionalism of the European ambassador to the world.
This lecture was opened by Ambassador Lin Yongle, President of the Council and former Foreign Minister. President Lin first thanked the wife of the President of the European Union and the former Vice President of the European Union President for their support to the lecture and the Association, and briefly introduced the friendly relationship between the European President and the former Vice President of the European Union President Professor Yao Chonghan, head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of NCCU, in his opening speech, paid special thanks to former deputy President to return to his alma mater to talk with teachers and students about his valuable experience and insights. I believe it will surely bring many inspiration to teachers and students
85-year-old former deputy President was full of spirit throughout the lecture, and he spoke about the past. He started by sharing his deep friendship with the president of the European Union and summed up his fifty years of involvement in our foreign affairs with "honesty, pragmatism and patience". He talked about past involvement in trade negotiations with the US, active efforts to get Taiwan to participate in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the promotion of Malaysia's students in Taiwan. He stressed that diplomats should be pragmatic in fighting for the best interests of the country and minimizing harm to the country, rather than prioritizing the interests of a single government or party.
During the talks, Ambassador Wu Wenhua confirmed the integrity and practical principles of the former deputy President in the negotiations, which won international respect and trust. Ambassador Hu Weizhen added with examples that former deputy President is forward-looking and practical in promoting China's economic and trade affairs, and its contribution is remarkable.
In the question session, a college student asked what the core of cross-strait relations is. President believes that the foundation for cross-strait relations is education, through recognition and exchange of Chinese cultural and historical background. Taiwan should also maintain economic and trade cooperation with mainland China, but it is not appropriate to rush into discussions about reunification at this time. Ambassador Fu Rongda asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be integrated with the Trade Department. Former deputy President said he is very happy to see it come from his own experience, after all, economic and trade affairs are also a very important part of diplomacy.
At the end of the Q&A, President Liian Hongyi of the School of International Affairs of Chengchi University presented a gift to the former Vice-President President and President Lin of the Association, which made the perfect conclusion to the second "Ouheng Lecture". This lecture is not only presented by former deputy President to review his past focus and reflection on foreign-related politics and economic and trade affairs for our country, but also gave the teachers and students a deep appreciation of the hardship and glory of the government's foreign-related affairs.

The Association for Foreign Relations (hereafter referred to as the Association) and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Chengchi University and the Department of Political Science of Political Science of Chengchi University jointly held the second "Euu Lecture" on May 30, 2024, and was co-organized by the Friends Association of the Department of Following last year's invitation to the 12th and 13th President of the Republic of China Dr. Ma Ying-jeou as the first speaker, this time I invited Republic of China the 12th deputy President the 3rd graduate of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary President of the Association, Dr. Wu Wanchang, to share his experience over the past 50 years with you under the theme of "My career and experience in foreign affairs".
In this lecture, Ambassador Wu Wenhua, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, and Ambassador Hu Weizhen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, are invited to share their experience of cooperation with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council,
The founding president and former Foreign Minister of the Association, Ambassador Au Bin, has joined Republic of China for more than 40 years of diplomacy, making outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and to our foreign affairs. In memory of his sacrifice and dedication to his diplomatic career, the Association and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the University of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 and set up a "Euuric Lecture" to carry on the diplomatic experience and professionalism of the European ambassador to the world.
This lecture was opened by Ambassador Lin Yongle, President of the Council and former Foreign Minister. President Lin first thanked the wife of the President of the European Union and the former Vice President of the European Union President for their support to the lecture and the Association, and briefly introduced the friendly relationship between the European President and the former Vice President of the European Union President Professor Yao Chonghan, head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of NCCU, in his opening speech, paid special thanks to former deputy President to return to his alma mater to talk with teachers and students about his valuable experience and insights. I believe it will surely bring many inspiration to teachers and students
85-year-old former deputy President was full of spirit throughout the lecture, and he spoke about the past. He started by sharing his deep friendship with the president of the European Union and summed up his fifty years of involvement in our foreign affairs with "honesty, pragmatism and patience". He talked about past involvement in trade negotiations with the US, active efforts to get Taiwan to participate in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the promotion of Malaysia's students in Taiwan. He stressed that diplomats should be pragmatic in fighting for the best interests of the country and minimizing harm to the country, rather than prioritizing the interests of a single government or party.
During the talks, Ambassador Wu Wenhua confirmed the integrity and practical principles of the former deputy President in the negotiations, which won international respect and trust. Ambassador Hu Weizhen added with examples that former deputy President is forward-looking and practical in promoting China's economic and trade affairs, and its contribution is remarkable.
In the question session, a college student asked what the core of cross-strait relations is. President believes that the foundation for cross-strait relations is education, through recognition and exchange of Chinese cultural and historical background. Taiwan should also maintain economic and trade cooperation with mainland China, but it is not appropriate to rush into discussions about reunification at this time. Ambassador Fu Rongda asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be integrated with the Trade Department. Former deputy President said he is very happy to see it come from his own experience, after all, economic and trade affairs are also a very important part of diplomacy.
At the end of the Q&A, President Liian Hongyi of the School of International Affairs of Chengchi University presented a gift to the former Vice-President President and President Lin of the Association, which made the perfect conclusion to the second "Ouheng Lecture". 85歲的蕭前副總統,於整場講座均精神飽滿,對於往事娓娓道來。他首先分享他與歐鴻鍊會長過去深厚情誼,並以「誠信、務實、忍耐」概括其五十年來參與我國涉外事務的經驗。他談到過去參與對美貿易談判、積極爭取台灣參與關稅暨貿易總協定(GATT)、加入世界貿易組織(WTO)與亞太經濟合作會議(APEC)、以及促成讓馬來西亞僑生來台留學的經過。他強調,外交官應以務實的態度去爭取國家最大利益,並將國家所受侵害減到最小,而非以單一政府或政黨的利益為優先考量。
在與談時段,鄭文華大使肯定蕭前副總統在談判上的誠信與務實原則,贏得了國際上的尊敬與信任。胡為真大使則以實例補充認為,蕭前副總統在推動我國經貿事務方面具有前瞻性與實踐力,其貢獻歷歷在目。
在提問環節中,有大學生問到兩岸關係的核心為何。蕭前副總統認為維繫兩岸關係的根本是教育,通過對於中華文化與歷史背景的認同與交流。另外,台灣也應與中國大陸保持經貿合作,但目前不宜急於討論統一。本協會常務理事令狐榮達大使問道,外交部是否應與國貿署結合。蕭前副總統表示,根據他自身經驗,非常樂見其成,畢竟經濟貿易事務對外交來說也是很重要的一環。

對外關係協會(以下簡稱本會)與政治大學外交學系、政治大學政治學系於本(2024)年5月30日聯合舉辦第二屆「歐鴻鍊講座」,並由政大外交系系友會協辦。繼去年邀請第12、13任中華民國總統馬英九博士作為首屆主講人後,此次邀請到中華民國第12任副總統、外交學系第三屆畢業生、本會名譽會長蕭萬長博士,以「我的涉外生涯與經驗」為題,與大家分享他過去五十年來的經驗談。
本場講座也邀請前外交部次長、國安會副秘書長鄭文華大使與前國安會秘書長胡為真大使作為與談人,分享他們與蕭副總統的合作經歷。
本會創會會長、前外交部長歐鴻鍊大使投身中華民國外交40餘載,對本會發展及我國外交貢獻卓著。為感念其於外交生涯的犧牲與奉獻,本會和政大外交系於2022年簽訂合作備忘錄,設置「歐鴻鍊講座」,以將歐大使的外交經驗及專業精神傳承於世。
本次講座由本會會長、前外交部部長林永樂大使開場。林會長首先感謝歐會長夫人與蕭前副總統對講座和本會的鼎力支持,並簡短介紹歐會長與蕭前副總統自大學以來的友好關係。政大外交系系主任吳崇涵教授於開場致詞時,特別感謝蕭前副總統回到母校與師生暢談其寶貴的經驗與見解,相信一定會為師生帶來許多啟發。
85歲的蕭前副總統,於整場講座均精神飽滿,對於往事娓娓道來。他首先分享他與歐鴻鍊會長過去深厚情誼,並以「誠信、務實、忍耐」概括其五十年來參與我國涉外事務的經驗。他談到過去參與對美貿易談判、積極爭取台灣參與關稅暨貿易總協定(GATT)、加入世界貿易組織(WTO)與亞太經濟合作會議(APEC)、以及促成讓馬來西亞僑生來台留學的經過。他強調,外交官應以務實的態度去爭取國家最大利益,並將國家所受侵害減到最小,而非以單一政府或政黨的利益為優先考量。
在與談時段,鄭文華大使肯定蕭前副總統在談判上的誠信與務實原則,贏得了國際上的尊敬與信任。胡為真大使則以實例補充認為,蕭前副總統在推動我國經貿事務方面具有前瞻性與實踐力,其貢獻歷歷在目。
在提問環節中,有大學生問到兩岸關係的核心為何。蕭前副總統認為維繫兩岸關係的根本是教育,通過對於中華文化與歷史背景的認同與交流。另外,台灣也應與中國大陸保持經貿合作,但目前不宜急於討論統一。本協會常務理事令狐榮達大使問道,外交部是否應與國貿署結合。蕭前副總統表示,根據他自身經驗,非常樂見其成,畢竟經濟貿易事務對外交來說也是很重要的一環。

The Association for Foreign Relations (hereafter referred to as the Association) and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Chengchi University and the Department of Political Science of Political Science of Chengchi University jointly held the second "Euu Lecture" on May 30, 2024, and was co-organized by the Friends Association of the Department of Following last year's invitation to the 12th and 13th President of the Republic of China Dr. Ma Ying-jeou as the first speaker, this time I invited Republic of China the 12th deputy President the 3rd graduate of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary President of the Association, Dr. Wu Wanchang, to share his experience over the past 50 years with you under the theme of "My career and experience in foreign affairs".
In this lecture, Ambassador Wu Wenhua, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, and Ambassador Hu Weizhen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, are invited to share their experience of cooperation with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council,
The founding president and former Foreign Minister of the Association, Ambassador Au Bin, has joined Republic of China for more than 40 years of diplomacy, making outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and to our foreign affairs. In memory of his sacrifice and dedication to his diplomatic career, the Association and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the University of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 and set up a "Euuric Lecture" to carry on the diplomatic experience and professionalism of the European ambassador to the world.
This lecture was opened by Ambassador Lin Yongle, President of the Council and former Foreign Minister. President Lin first thanked the wife of the President of the European Union and the former Vice President of the European Union President for their support to the lecture and the Association, and briefly introduced the friendly relationship between the European President and the former Vice President of the European Union President Professor Yao Chonghan, head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of NCCU, in his opening speech, paid special thanks to former deputy President to return to his alma mater to talk with teachers and students about his valuable experience and insights. I believe it will surely bring many inspiration to teachers and students
85-year-old former deputy President was full of spirit throughout the lecture, and he spoke about the past. He started by sharing his deep friendship with the president of the European Union and summed up his fifty years of involvement in our foreign affairs with "honesty, pragmatism and patience". He talked about past involvement in trade negotiations with the US, active efforts to get Taiwan to participate in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the promotion of Malaysia's students in Taiwan. He stressed that diplomats should be pragmatic in fighting for the best interests of the country and minimizing harm to the country, rather than prioritizing the interests of a single government or party.
During the talks, Ambassador Wu Wenhua confirmed the integrity and practical principles of the former deputy President in the negotiations, which won international respect and trust. Ambassador Hu Weizhen added with examples that former deputy President is forward-looking and practical in promoting China's economic and trade affairs, and its contribution is remarkable.
In the question session, a college student asked what the core of cross-strait relations is. President believes that the foundation for cross-strait relations is education, through recognition and exchange of Chinese cultural and historical background. Taiwan should also maintain economic and trade cooperation with mainland China, but it is not appropriate to rush into discussions about reunification at this time. Ambassador Fu Rongda asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be integrated with the Trade Department. Former deputy President said he is very happy to see it come from his own experience, after all, economic and trade affairs are also a very important part of diplomacy.
At the end of the Q&A, President Liian Hongyi of the School of International Affairs of Chengchi University presented a gift to the former Vice-President President and President Lin of the Association, which made the perfect conclusion to the second "Ouheng Lecture". The Association for Foreign Relations (hereafter referred to as the Association) and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Chengchi University and the Department of Political Science of Political Science of Chengchi University jointly held the second "Euu Lecture" on May 30, 2024, and was co-organized by the Friends Association of the Department of Following last year's invitation to the 12th and 13th President of the Republic of China Dr. Ma Ying-jeou as the first speaker, this time I invited Republic of China the 12th deputy President the 3rd graduate of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary President of the Association, Dr. Wu Wanchang, to share his experience over the past 50 years with you under the theme of "My career and experience in foreign affairs".
In this lecture, Ambassador Wu Wenhua, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, and Ambassador Hu Weizhen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, are invited to share their experience of cooperation with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council,
The founding president and former Foreign Minister of the Association, Ambassador Au Bin, has joined Republic of China for more than 40 years of diplomacy, making outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and to our foreign affairs. In memory of his sacrifice and dedication to his diplomatic career, the Association and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the University of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 and set up a "Euuric Lecture" to carry on the diplomatic experience and professionalism of the European ambassador to the world.
This lecture was opened by Ambassador Lin Yongle, President of the Council and former Foreign Minister. President Lin first thanked the wife of the President of the European Union and the former Vice President of the European Union President for their support to the lecture and the Association, and briefly introduced the friendly relationship between the European President and the former Vice President of the European Union President Professor Yao Chonghan, head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of NCCU, in his opening speech, paid special thanks to former deputy President to return to his alma mater to talk with teachers and students about his valuable experience and insights. I believe it will surely bring many inspiration to teachers and students
85-year-old former deputy President was full of spirit throughout the lecture, and he spoke about the past. He started by sharing his deep friendship with the president of the European Union and summed up his fifty years of involvement in our foreign affairs with "honesty, pragmatism and patience". He talked about past involvement in trade negotiations with the US, active efforts to get Taiwan to participate in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the promotion of Malaysia's students in Taiwan. He stressed that diplomats should be pragmatic in fighting for the best interests of the country and minimizing harm to the country, rather than prioritizing the interests of a single government or party.
During the talks, Ambassador Wu Wenhua confirmed the integrity and practical principles of the former deputy President in the negotiations, which won international respect and trust. Ambassador Hu Weizhen added with examples that former deputy President is forward-looking and practical in promoting China's economic and trade affairs, and its contribution is remarkable.
In the question session, a college student asked what the core of cross-strait relations is. President believes that the foundation for cross-strait relations is education, through recognition and exchange of Chinese cultural and historical background. Taiwan should also maintain economic and trade cooperation with mainland China, but it is not appropriate to rush into discussions about reunification at this time. Ambassador Fu Rongda asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be integrated with the Trade Department. Former deputy President said he is very happy to see it come from his own experience, after all, economic and trade affairs are also a very important part of diplomacy.
At the end of the Q&A, President Liian Hongyi of the School of International Affairs of Chengchi University presented a gift to the former Vice-President President and President Lin of the Association, which made the perfect conclusion to the second "Ouheng Lecture". This lecture is not only presented by former deputy President to review his past focus and reflection on foreign-related politics and economic and trade affairs for our country, but also gave the teachers and students a deep appreciation of the hardship and glory of the government's foreign-related affairs.

85歲的蕭前副總統,於整場講座均精神飽滿,對於往事娓娓道來。他首先分享他與歐鴻鍊會長過去深厚情誼,並以「誠信、務實、忍耐」概括其五十年來參與我國涉外事務的經驗。他談到過去參與對美貿易談判、積極爭取台灣參與關稅暨貿易總協定(GATT)、加入世界貿易組織(WTO)與亞太經濟合作會議(APEC)、以及促成讓馬來西亞僑生來台留學的經過。他強調,外交官應以務實的態度去爭取國家最大利益,並將國家所受侵害減到最小,而非以單一政府或政黨的利益為優先考量。
在與談時段,鄭文華大使肯定蕭前副總統在談判上的誠信與務實原則,贏得了國際上的尊敬與信任。胡為真大使則以實例補充認為,蕭前副總統在推動我國經貿事務方面具有前瞻性與實踐力,其貢獻歷歷在目。
在提問環節中,有大學生問到兩岸關係的核心為何。蕭前副總統認為維繫兩岸關係的根本是教育,通過對於中華文化與歷史背景的認同與交流。另外,台灣也應與中國大陸保持經貿合作,但目前不宜急於討論統一。本協會常務理事令狐榮達大使問道,外交部是否應與國貿署結合。蕭前副總統表示,根據他自身經驗,非常樂見其成,畢竟經濟貿易事務對外交來說也是很重要的一環。

【第二屆歐鴻鍊講座:前副總統蕭萬長博士分享涉外生涯與經驗】

對外關係協會(以下簡稱本會)與政治大學外交學系、政治大學政治學系於本(2024)年5月30日聯合舉辦第二屆「歐鴻鍊講座」,並由政大外交系系友會協辦。繼去年邀請第12、13任中華民國總統馬英九博士作為首屆主講人後,此次邀請到中華民國第12任副總統、外交學系第三屆畢業生、本會名譽會長蕭萬長博士,以「我的涉外生涯與經驗」為題,與大家分享他過去五十年來的經驗談。
本場講座也邀請前外交部次長、國安會副秘書長鄭文華大使與前國安會秘書長胡為真大使作為與談人,分享他們與蕭副總統的合作經歷。
本會創會會長、前外交部長歐鴻鍊大使投身中華民國外交40餘載,對本會發展及我國外交貢獻卓著。為感念其於外交生涯的犧牲與奉獻,本會和政大外交系於2022年簽訂合作備忘錄,設置「歐鴻鍊講座」,以將歐大使的外交經驗及專業精神傳承於世。
本次講座由本會會長、前外交部部長林永樂大使開場。林會長首先感謝歐會長夫人與蕭前副總統對講座和本會的鼎力支持,並簡短介紹歐會長與蕭前副總統自大學以來的友好關係。政大外交系系主任吳崇涵教授於開場致詞時,特別感謝蕭前副總統回到母校與師生暢談其寶貴的經驗與見解,相信一定會為師生帶來許多啟發。
85歲的蕭前副總統,於整場講座均精神飽滿,對於往事娓娓道來。他首先分享他與歐鴻鍊會長過去深厚情誼,並以「誠信、務實、忍耐」概括其五十年來參與我國涉外事務的經驗。他談到過去參與對美貿易談判、積極爭取台灣參與關稅暨貿易總協定(GATT)、加入世界貿易組織(WTO)與亞太經濟合作會議(APEC)、以及促成讓馬來西亞僑生來台留學的經過。他強調,外交官應以務實的態度去爭取國家最大利益,並將國家所受侵害減到最小,而非以單一政府或政黨的利益為優先考量。
在與談時段,鄭文華大使肯定蕭前副總統在談判上的誠信與務實原則,贏得了國際上的尊敬與信任。胡為真大使則以實例補充認為,蕭前副總統在推動我國經貿事務方面具有前瞻性與實踐力,其貢獻歷歷在目。
在提問環節中,有大學生問到兩岸關係的核心為何。蕭前副總統認為維繫兩岸關係的根本是教育,通過對於中華文化與歷史背景的認同與交流。另外,台灣也應與中國大陸保持經貿合作,但目前不宜急於討論統一。本協會常務理事令狐榮達大使問道,外交部是否應與國貿署結合。蕭前副總統表示,根據他自身經驗,非常樂見其成,畢竟經濟貿易事務對外交來說也是很重要的一環。
在問答結束後,由政治大學國際事務學院連弘宜院長代表致贈禮品予蕭前副總統及本會林會長,為第二屆「歐鴻鍊講座」劃下完美句點。本場講座不僅由蕭前副總統親自回顧其過去為我國在涉外政治及經貿事務方面的重點與反思,也讓在場師生深刻體會到從事政府涉外事務工作的艱辛與榮耀,咸認獲益良多。

The Association for Foreign Relations (hereafter referred to as the Association) and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Chengchi University and the Department of Political Science of Political Science of Chengchi University jointly held the second "Euu Lecture" on May 30, 2024, and was co-organized by the Friends Association of the Department of Following last year's invitation to the 12th and 13th President of the Republic of China Dr. Ma Ying-jeou as the first speaker, this time I invited Republic of China the 12th deputy President the 3rd graduate of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary President of the Association, Dr. Wu Wanchang, to share his experience over the past 50 years with you under the theme of "My career and experience in foreign affairs".
In this lecture, Ambassador Wu Wenhua, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, and Ambassador Hu Weizhen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, are invited to share their experience of cooperation with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council,
The founding president and former Foreign Minister of the Association, Ambassador Au Bin, has joined Republic of China for more than 40 years of diplomacy, making outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and to our foreign affairs. In memory of his sacrifice and dedication to his diplomatic career, the Association and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the University of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 and set up a "Euuric Lecture" to carry on the diplomatic experience and professionalism of the European ambassador to the world.
This lecture was opened by Ambassador Lin Yongle, President of the Council and former Foreign Minister. President Lin first thanked the wife of the President of the European Union and the former Vice President of the European Union President for their support to the lecture and the Association, and briefly introduced the friendly relationship between the European President and the former Vice President of the European Union President Professor Yao Chonghan, head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of NCCU, in his opening speech, paid special thanks to former deputy President to return to his alma mater to talk with teachers and students about his valuable experience and insights. I believe it will surely bring many inspiration to teachers and students
85-year-old former deputy President was full of spirit throughout the lecture, and he spoke about the past. He started by sharing his deep friendship with the president of the European Union and summed up his fifty years of involvement in our foreign affairs with "honesty, pragmatism and patience". He talked about past involvement in trade negotiations with the US, active efforts to get Taiwan to participate in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the promotion of Malaysia's students in Taiwan. He stressed that diplomats should be pragmatic in fighting for the best interests of the country and minimizing harm to the country, rather than prioritizing the interests of a single government or party.
During the talks, Ambassador Wu Wenhua confirmed the integrity and practical principles of the former deputy President in the negotiations, which won international respect and trust. Ambassador Hu Weizhen added with examples that former deputy President is forward-looking and practical in promoting China's economic and trade affairs, and its contribution is remarkable.
In the question session, a college student asked what the core of cross-strait relations is. President believes that the foundation for cross-strait relations is education, through recognition and exchange of Chinese cultural and historical background. Taiwan should also maintain economic and trade cooperation with mainland China, but it is not appropriate to rush into discussions about reunification at this time. Ambassador Fu Rongda asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be integrated with the Trade Department. Former deputy President said he is very happy to see it come from his own experience, after all, economic and trade affairs are also a very important part of diplomacy.
At the end of the Q&A, President Liian Hongyi of the School of International Affairs of Chengchi University presented a gift to the former Vice-President President and President Lin of the Association, which made the perfect conclusion to the second "Ouheng Lecture". This lecture is not only presented by former deputy President to review his past focus and reflection on foreign-related politics and economic and trade affairs for our country, but also gave the teachers and students a deep appreciation of the hardship and glory of the government's foreign-related affairs.

The Association for Foreign Relations (hereafter referred to as the Association) and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Chengchi University and the Department of Political Science of Political Science of Chengchi University jointly held the second "Euu Lecture" on May 30, 2024, and was co-organized by the Friends Association of the Department of Following last year's invitation to the 12th and 13th President of the Republic of China Dr. Ma Ying-jeou as the first speaker, this time I invited Republic of China the 12th deputy President the 3rd graduate of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary President of the Association, Dr. Wu Wanchang, to share his experience over the past 50 years with you under the theme of "My career and experience in foreign affairs".
In this lecture, Ambassador Wu Wenhua, former deputy secretary-general of the National Security Council, and Ambassador Hu Weizhen, former secretary-general of the National Security Council, are invited to share their experience of cooperation with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council,
The founding president and former Foreign Minister of the Association, Ambassador Au Bin, has joined Republic of China for more than 40 years of diplomacy, making outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and to our foreign affairs. In memory of his sacrifice and dedication to his diplomatic career, the Association and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the University of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 and set up a "Euuric Lecture" to carry on the diplomatic experience and professionalism of the European ambassador to the world.
This lecture was opened by Ambassador Lin Yongle, President of the Council and former Foreign Minister. President Lin first thanked the wife of the President of the European Union and the former Vice President of the European Union President for their support to the lecture and the Association, and briefly introduced the friendly relationship between the European President and the former Vice President of the European Union President Professor Yao Chonghan, head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of NCCU, in his opening speech, paid special thanks to former deputy President to return to his alma mater to talk with teachers and students about his valuable experience and insights. I believe it will surely bring many inspiration to teachers and students
85-year-old former deputy President was full of spirit throughout the lecture, and he spoke about the past. He started by sharing his deep friendship with the president of the European Union and summed up his fifty years of involvement in our foreign affairs with "honesty, pragmatism and patience". He talked about past involvement in trade negotiations with the US, active efforts to get Taiwan to participate in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the promotion of Malaysia's students in Taiwan. He stressed that diplomats should be pragmatic in fighting for the best interests of the country and minimizing harm to the country, rather than prioritizing the interests of a single government or party.
During the talks, Ambassador Wu Wenhua confirmed the integrity and practical principles of the former deputy President in the negotiations, which won international respect and trust. Ambassador Hu Weizhen added with examples that former deputy President is forward-looking and practical in promoting China's economic and trade affairs, and its contribution is remarkable.
In the question session, a college student asked what the core of cross-strait relations is. President believes that the foundation for cross-strait relations is education, through recognition and exchange of Chinese cultural and historical background. Taiwan should also maintain economic and trade cooperation with mainland China, but it is not appropriate to rush into discussions about reunification at this time. Ambassador Fu Rongda asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be integrated with the Trade Department. Former deputy President said he is very happy to see it come from his own experience, after all, economic and trade affairs are also a very important part of diplomacy.
At the end of the Q&A, President Liian Hongyi of the School of International Affairs of Chengchi University presented a gift to the former Vice-President President and President Lin of the Association, which made the perfect conclusion to the second "Ouheng Lecture". This lecture is not only presented by former deputy President to review his past focus and reflection on foreign-related politics and economic and trade affairs for our country, but also gave the teachers and students a deep appreciation of the hardship and glory of the government's foreign-related affairs.
