賴大使過去派駐瓜地馬拉、義大利及宏都拉斯等國，曾任外交部國際經濟司司長、駐雪梨辦事處處長、亞太經濟合作理事會計畫主任及國際合作發展基金會助理秘書長等職。2009年擔任駐宏都拉斯大使期間，適逢宏國政變，也協助庇護現任總統卡斯的女兒、女婿，眼見現在邦誼生變，令人感慨。
講座現場同學提問，在外交工作上遇到最困難的事為何。大使回答說，雙邊溝通有各自不同堅持的立場時，是最困難的。也有同學問到，臺灣的邦交國不斷減少，是不是要換別的方式，不一定要有邦交國。大使回答，邦交國的減少，很令人擔心質變，沒有友邦會在國際組織為臺灣發聲，最後被邊緣化。
聆聽完演講後，惠文高中的羅千涵同學表示，講座提供自己更有世界觀，有更多不同的觀點。興大副農的譚名岑同學更分享，希望未來有機會能結合自己的專長，把農業應用在南美國家，這次的分享讓他開啟更多想法。
惠文高中在臺中市教育局的支持下，與對外關係協會合作，開設大使帶你遊世界課程，接著還有3場講座開放中彰投苗高中職學生至優遊臺中學網站報名 (請參考留言連結)，分別是4月22日葛光越大使談東歐、5月6日梁英斌大使談東北亞及5月27日章計平大使談東南亞。希望透過講座，各區域的文史地貌及人際經濟交流，鮮明地展現，盼藉此提升學生多元文化與國際理解的核心素養。

Former ambassador to Honduras, Lai Jianzhong talks about Central and South America and the Caribbean

Ambassador Lai has been posted in Guatemala, Italy and Honduras, and has served as Director of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Office in Sydney, Director of Program of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Council and Assistant Secretary-General of the Foundation for International Cooperation and Development. As ambassador to Honduras in 2009, he was helping to protect the current President daughter and son-in-law of Cass, and it is sad to see how the friendship is changing.
Students at the lecture asked what is the most difficult thing to encounter in diplomatic work. The ambassador replied that it is most difficult to communicate with each other when they have different positions to insist on. Some classmates also asked whether Taiwan's diplomatic relations are decreasing, is it necessary to change the way, not necessarily to have diplomatic relations. The ambassador replied that the reduction of diplomatic ties is very worrying about a qualitative change, that no friend will speak out for Taiwan in international organizations and end up being marginalised.
After listening to the speech, Luo Qianhan from Huewen High School said that the lecture provides himself with a more worldview and more different perspectives. The famous classmate of Xing's big farmer shared more, hoping that in the future, he could combine his expertise and apply agriculture to South America. This sharing allowed him to open up more ideas.
Huiwen High School, with the support of the Taichung Municipal Education Bureau, cooperates with the Association for Foreign Relations, launched an ambassador to take you to the world course. Then there are 3 lectures open to the students of Zhongtou Miao High School to register on the website of Taiwan Middle School (please refer to the link in the message), respectively, Ambassador Ge Guangyue on Eastern Europe on April 22nd, Ambassador Liang Ying-chuan on May 6th, Ambassador Zhang Jiping on Southeast Asia on May 27. I hope that through lectures, the cultural and historical landscape and interpersonal and economic exchanges of various regions will be vividly demonstrated, hoping to enhance the students' core literacy of multiculturalism and international understanding.
