2003年故宮的400件文物到了德國舉行了「天子之寶」展覽，促成了兩國在文化界的一大合作，基於外交上的互惠原則，隔年2004年德國也來台灣故宮舉辦「德藝百年」展覽，展示了近200件的文物書畫。當年第一夫人吳淑珍女士也前往德國參與開幕式典禮。當時究竟是如何促成這次的合作，在展覽期間有發生了哪些事情呢？
