2001年，胡為真大使至德國擔任特派代表，然而因為與德國並無邦交，加上德國實行一個中國政策，造成與德國關係相當困難。昔日台灣改掉德國承建我們高鐵標案事件，也讓德國人銘記在心。
但是，胡大使做了哪些事情，讓德國開始對台灣釋出善意，甚至讓胡大使登上了德國官方外交雜誌-- 【Diplomatisches Magazin】呢？後來，經濟部長帶團訪德，德國也盛情接待。

In 2001, Ambassador Hu Weizhen went to Germany as a special representative, but the lack of diplomatic relations with Germany and Germany's one-China policy made relations with Germany very difficult. In the past, Taiwan changed Germany to build our high-speed rail bidding event, but also let the Germans remember.
