【對外關係協會理事 呂慶龍大使：關閉總領事館很嚴重中美會自制】
美國21日無預警要求中國關閉駐休士頓總領事館，台灣前駐法代表呂慶龍接受中評社訪問時表示，中美貿易戰從經濟、科技、軍事拓展到情報、資料，再延伸到外交。關閉總領事館很嚴重，若根據平等互惠原則，中國當然也會去關閉美國的領事館。他說，美國大選快到了，美國動手將外交議題搬上檯面是重要的抉擇，應該是要讓美國人民有更強烈的感受。
對於中美關係是否會越演越烈？他認為，戰爭的危機是存在的，但雙方都會自製；斷交有可能性但不會走到這一步，因為所有問題不會因此就順利解決。
