本會將於本(民國104)年12月17日(星期四)上午10時舉辦「亞太安全與繁榮之未來」演講會。
本次演講會將假香格里拉台北遠東國際大飯店2樓香格里拉宴會廳舉辦,邀請前美國國安會亞洲事務資深主任麥艾文(Evan S. Medeiros),以「亞太安全與繁榮之未來」(The Future of Security and Prosperity in the Asia-Pacific)為題發表英語演說及接受現場提問;並由對外關係協會理事、開發國際投資股份有限公司董事長、政大公行系兼任教授、前台北市副市長吳秀光博士主持。
麥艾文博士曾於2013年7月至2015年6月任白宮國安會亞洲事務資深主任,為歐巴馬總統亞太區域外交、國防政策、經濟政策及情報事務重要智囊;任職白宮前曾為蘭德公司(RAND Corporation)資深政治學者、美國財政部美「中」戰略暨經濟對話(S&ED)及中國大陸事務特使政策顧問、國家情報委員會(NIC)顧問。麥艾文博士甫於今年夏天自美國國安會卸職,目前任「歐亞集團」(Eurasia Group)亞洲部執行董事,此次為其卸任政府要職後首度訪華,故此演講會機會實屬難得,敬請 撥冗出席。

The Association will hold a speech on "The Future of Security and Prosperity in Asia-Pacific" on Thursday, December 17th (Taiwan 104) at 10am.
This speech will be held at the Shangri-La Ballroom, 2nd floor of the Far Eastern International Hotel, Taipei, with the invitation of former National Security Council Senior Director of Asian Affairs Evan S. Medeiros), delivered an English speech and received live questions on the theme "The Future of Security and Prosperity in the Asia-Pacific". It was moderated by Dr. Yao Xiuuang, Director of the Association for Foreign Relations, Chairman of Development International Investment Co., Ltd. and Adjunct Professor of Public Affairs Department of National Political Affairs, former Deputy Mayor of Taipei City.
Dr. McIvan was senior director of Asian affairs at the White House National Security Council from July 2013 to June 2015. He was an important think tank for Obama on foreign affairs, defense policy, economic policy, and intelligence affairs in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to his appointment at the White House, he was a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation, a US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) and a policy advisor to the Special Envoy for Mainland China Affairs, and an advisor to the National Intelligence Council (NIC). Dr. McIvan stepped down from the National Security Council this summer and is currently the executive director of the Asia division of the Eurasia Group. This is his first visit to China since leaving a key government post, so please take time to attend.
