本會名譽會長蕭前副總統萬長代表我國參與APEC，根據新聞報導，蕭名譽會長14日在成果說明記者會中證實，此行他除與美國國務卿凱瑞舉行正式會談外，也與日本首相安倍晉三、新加坡總理李顯龍進行會晤。李顯龍更於12日在個人臉書專頁上公開與蕭萬長伉儷的合照，證實雙方在會中進行早餐會。在與安倍的會晤方面，雙方就近兩年來台日關係做了全面檢討，彼此都認為雙邊關係發展正面，也同意加強交流合作，深化兩邊經濟關係，另外也特別討論如何加入區域經濟整合等問題，彼此同意雙方應多交換資訊。
