下月即將在北京舉行的亞太經合組織（APEC）領袖會議，我方將由前副總統蕭萬長代表與會，總統馬英九希望與中國領導人習近平進行「馬習會」確定破局。不過，AIT（美國在台協會）前理事主席卜睿哲下午在「2015年台灣內外政策環境的展望」研討會上表示，馬習會並非不可能，但要取決於滿足幾個不同議題的共識，包括是在國內或國際舉辦、是黨對黨或領導人之間會面？雙方會面與「一中原則」的關聯等，這些都是可以觀察的重點。
