本會邀請美國南加大傳播與新聞學院Tom Hollihan教授,於9月22日(一)10點30分至12時00分,於國立政治大學校本部發表題為Mass Media and the Sino-Japanese Territorial Dispute的演講,將與政大師生討論大眾媒體對釣魚台列嶼議題之論述及對區域秩序的影響。
Hollihan教授為政治傳播學者,最近出版新書《The Dispute over the Diayou/Senkaku Islands: How Media Narratives Shape Public Opinions and Challenge the Global Order》,其妻Patricia Riley為南加大傳播與新聞學院副教授兼Global Communication Master's Degree Program主任,當天將一同出席演講活動。
演講全程將以英語進行,演講後安排現場提問討論。
政大主辦單位為: 國際研究英語碩士學位學程、日本研究學程;協辦單位為國際事務學院外交政策研究中心。

We invite Professor Tom Hollihan of the School of Communication and Journalism of the USC School of Communication and Journalism to deliver a speech entitled Mass Media and the Sino-Japanese Territorial Dispute at the National Chengchi University Headquarters on September 22nd (Monday) from 10:30 to 12:00. He will discuss with the teachers and students the mass media's argument on the issue of Shark Taiwan Lennon and the impact on regional order.
Professor Hollihan, a political communication scholar, recently published a book, The Dispute over the Diayou/Senkaku Islands: How Media Narratives Shape Public Opinions and Challenge the Global Order, and his wife Patricia Riley, an associate professor at the School of Communication and Journalism and director of the Global Communication Master's Degree Program, will be attending the lecture on the same day.
The entire speech will be conducted in English, with live question discussion scheduled after the speech.
Organizers of NCCU are: Master's degree program in International Studies, Japanese Studies program; co-sponsored by the Foreign Policy Research Center of the School of International Affairs.
