本協會謹訂於民國103年5月12日（星期一）下午2時30分假外交部外交及國際事務學院2樓國際會議廳（台北市敦化南路一段280號2F）舉辦演講會，特邀傳統基金會(The Heritage Foundation) 會長狄敏特 (Jim DeMint) 主講「保存亞洲自由的希望」(Conserving the Promise of Freedom in Asia)。
狄敏特會長為美國實業家出身，曾任美國共和黨眾議員（1999-2005；南卡羅萊納州）及參議員（2005-2013；南卡羅萊納州）。演講全程將以英語進行，內容將涵蓋美國政治理念與美國外交、國防、貿易政策之關聯性，以及臺灣關係法等議題。演講會將由本協會歐鴻鍊會長致歡迎詞、台灣大學公共政策與法律研究中心主任包宗和教授(同時亦為本會會員)主持。演講結束後將安排現場提問討論。

The Association is scheduled to hold a speech at 2.30pm on Monday, May 12, 103, at the International Conference Hall, 2nd floor of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2F, No. 280, Sec. 1, Dunhua South Road, Taipei City). The Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint is invited to speak on "Conserving the Promise of Freedom in Asia".
President Dmitter is an American industrialist and has served as a Republican Congressman (1999-2005; South Carolina) and a senator (2005-2013; South Carolina). The speech will be conducted in English and will cover issues such as the relationship between U.S. political philosophy and U.S. foreign, defense, trade policy, and Taiwan Relations Law. The lecture will be hosted by the president of the Association, President of the Association, Professor Bao Zonghe, Director of the Center for Public Policy and Legal Studies of Taiwan University (also a member of the Association). Live question discussion will be arranged after the presentation.
