2022 School Lecture Series
2022 marks the ninth year since the establishment of the Association of Foreign Relations’ (AFR), as it continues to partner with schools across Taiwan to invite practitioners and field experts in lecturing courses on a myriad of subjects in fall 2022. By inviting professionals from public, private, and nonprofit sectors to share their expertise and experience within the political and economics field, we hope these introductory courses will expand students’ horizons and knowledge in the International Relations field, while also sparking their interests in understanding how Taiwan’s public affairs interact with and influence the world. Partner universities for the semester of fall 2022 include Chung Yuan Christian University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Soochow University, Chung Hua University, CTBC Business School, Yuan Ze University, and National Dong Hwa University. Moreover, AFR has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Diplomacy of National Chengchi University to set up the “Francisco H.L. Ou Lecture Series” in an effort to continue AFR Founding Chairman Ou’s spirit and promote international mindedness among Taiwanese youth.
Ever since AFR’s establishment in 2014, we have always abided by our objective to assist the Republic of China (ROC) in its effort to improve international and cross-Strait cooperation, promote peace and stability in the Asia Pacific by initiating meaningful and constructive dialogue, and uphold the image and status of Taiwan, ROC. Amid the ongoing pandemic, AFR has redirected its projects inward to focus on local outreach and promoting the dissemination of knowledge in international relations on all levels of education, from elementary school to university level classes. To increase Taiwan’s visibility on the international stage, we have also been collaborating with the Fair Winds Foundation and the Taipei Forum in releasing the weekly newsletter Taiwan Weekly. We hope these endeavours can bring about public momentum in participating in international affairs and increase people’s competitiveness in this age of globalization.
